BEAVERS meet Friday 5.30-6.30

Your childs first adventure into scouting

Beaver Scouts are our youngest members. Meeting weekly to take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities.

They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.

CUBS meet Wednesday 6.45-8.15

Get outdoors with games and activities

A Cub Scout Pack can have up to 36 Cub Scouts and is split into smaller groups called Sixes. Cubs take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting and challenging. A Cub Scout meeting consists of games and activities with plenty of time spent outdoors.

SCOUTS meet Friday 7-9

Experience the more traditional scouting activities

Each Scout Troop consists of small units of six to eight Scouts called a Patrol, usually led by a Patrol Leader. Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping. Throughout the year, Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp.

Rock climbing, potholing, gliding, photography and international experiences are just some of the things they get up to.

We usually offer at least 3 weekend camps each year, plus a 1-week summer camp which normally runs from the last Saturday in July to the first Saturday in August.

BADGE APPLICATION

Download the "My Badges" application for comprehensive badge details for all sections so you can find the badges which are right for your young person and help them to get the best out of scouting.

All sections have a range of badges that young people can earn. Our programme of activities primarily focus on the Challenge Awards which are the key components of the "Chief Scout" awards, which are the highest awards available to each section.

We also cover a number of other badges in the programme, but we could never cover them all. If your young person has a hobby or interest the chances are that there is a badge they can earn - just talk to your section leader!
